Backpack Ministry

The Backpack Ministry collects school supplies for school-aged (preschool - 12th grade) children in the Clinton Country area, RAVE and North Lansing Schools. During the month of July/August, congregation members are asked to bring in identified school supplies. These items are then sorted into backpacks and delivered to students as they begin the new school year.

For 2011 we will start collecting on July 23rd through August 21st. We will pack the bags after the 11:00 service on August 21st.

You Can Help By...

     ... informing the Outreach committee of a school age child in need of school supplies
     ... donating school supplies
     ... assisting with the set up of Back to School displays
     ... creating Back to School tags and signs
     ... assisting with the collection and organization of supplies
     ... delivering complete backpacks to local schools and service organizations
     ... praying for the students receiving the school supplies

ITEMS NEEDED: Large Backpacks (The larger backpacks work the best for all ages. Elementary kids have snow gear, lunch box, etc. and Jr. & Sr. High have books and binders) • Crayons • Glue Sticks • Pencils • Erasers • Pens (Blue, Black & Red) • Colored Pencils • Markers • Scissors • Pocket Folders • Pencil Case • Loose Leaf Paper • Spiral Notebooks • 3-Ring Binders
