NEW TEACHING SERIES FOR LENT – Come, Follow Me
Beginning February 14th – In the 9th chapter of Luke’s Gospel, in a section of Scripture called “The Cost of Following Jesus” we read how Jesus invited people to join Him on a journey of faith using three simple words: “Come, follow Me. It’s easy to be involved in the church without being a disciple of Jesus Christ. It’s easy to believe in Christ intellectually and give Him an hour of our time on Sunday – but that is not enough. Jesus calls each of us to be committed followers. We live in a post-Christian culture. Choosing to lead a Christian life is not easy. It runs contrary to everything we experience in the culture around us. This Lenten series begins on Ash Wednesday…and will challenge us to consider our level of commitment as a follower of Jesus…and will introduce our congregation to a new “Spiritual Growth Plan” that will enable us to take up the invitation to “Come, follow Me.”

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY – The Endowment Fund of Redeemer Church is providing a college scholarship opportunity for our graduating seniors. To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must be an active participant of Redeemer Church and attending a Christian college in the fall. Up to $1,000 will be awarded at the discretion of the Scholarship Awards Committee. If no graduating seniors apply for the scholarship – consideration will be given to students currently enrolled in a Christian college. Students interested in applying for this scholarship can obtain applications at our website (under financial/planned giving) or in the church office. Scholarship applications are due by Thursday, March 15th. These scholarships are funded by the Redeemer Endowment Fund. An endowment fund uses the earnings off the principal amount of money (which is not used) to fund initiatives outside of the general budget. Contributions to this fund can be made at any time which will support programs here at Redeemer in perpetuity. If you have any questions regarding this scholarship or the Endowment Fund, contact Diane in the church office.
