Ways to Give       Financial Peace University       Planned Giving           Give Now

Planned Giving

Planned Giving is simply planning to make a difference both for yourself and for a cause that you believe in through a charitable gift. Planned giving is often described as "Leaving a Legacy" because so many are created to make an impact for future generations. It is surprisingly easy to arrange a planned gift. Though more sophisticated gifts will require more care, many methods are quite straightforward. Whatever the method, you can plan your gift to maximize your objectives.
A Planned Gift can:
        • Give you a tax advantage
        • Fit appropriately with your estate plans and concerns for heirs
        • Compliment your lifestyle goals
        • Match your wish to leave a legacy to the cause you care about

Legacy Society

The Redeemer Legacy Society was created to honor those who have remembered Redeemer UMC in a very special way through their will, a trust fund, a charitable gift annuity or another type of deferred gift. Those honored as members of the society are truly leaders, and their generosity and thoughtfulness will serve as a legacy for their family and friends for generations to come.

Why put Redeemer in your will? For the Christian, it is necessary that our lifestyle be lived in such a way that our beliefs and values are reflected in the lives of the individuals whom they touch. And, at death, our lifestyle will continue to live on in those individuals. This is God's plan at work. The same is true with that portion of our finances which we have accumulated in our estate.

Endowment Fund

Redeemer's Endowment Fund is a combined pool of financial assets which have been given to an organization. The principal amount that is gifted remains untouched while the income from the investment is made available for distribution for activities consistent with the organization. These gifts allow the church to accomplish much more than would be possible through annual stewardship funding.

How has the Endowment Fund been used thus far? The Endowment Fund has been used for the upgrade of the Computer Lab in Kingdom Quest, underwriting the Consecration Brunch, supplies for the worship bags that our children us every Sunday and more.

Gifts of Stocks

Redeemer is ready to accept gifts of stocks. This can be a very beneficial way to contribute gifts to Redeemer. If you are interested in transferring stock to Redeemer Church, please consult your financial advisor and then contact Diane Lantzy at the church to complete the gift transfer.

Wills and Estate Seminars

Two times a year, Redeemer sponsors a Wills and Estate Seminar led by a local attorney, Melissa Allen. This seminar is geared toward people who would like to learn some basic information on the importance of having a will and the advantages of establishing a revocable living trust. Issues covered in the seminar include:
        • What are your estate planning options?
        • What is joint tenancy?
        • Is drawing up a will a good idea?
        • What is a Living Trust and why is it beneficial?
        • What can a Living Trust do for you?
